Refund & Cancellation Policy
Last updated (draft)
This document is a draft and may change before the service launches.
FastFindRemoteJobs (fastfindremotejobs.com) Effective date: [EFFECTIVE DATE]
FastFindRemoteJobs is operated by Conner Strategic Systems LLC, a Pennsylvania limited liability company ("we," "us," "our"). This policy explains:
- how your subscription renews;
- how to cancel;
- how plan changes and failed payments work;
- when refunds are available.
This policy is part of our Terms of Service. If this policy and the Terms of Service say different things about billing, cancellation or refunds, this policy controls.
[BEFORE PUBLISHING: link the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, SMS Terms, Pricing page and Speed Report wherever they are mentioned. Match the menu names used below (Account, Billing, Manage subscription, Delete account) to the final product.]
At a glance
- Monthly plans that renew automatically until you cancel. There's no free trial and no minimum commitment.
- Cancel online anytime in Account → Billing. You don't need to call or email us.
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you've paid for. You keep full access until then, and you won't be charged again.
- No refunds for partial months, except where the law requires one or we choose to give a goodwill refund. [ATTORNEY/OWNER TO CONFIRM]
- A full refund ends your subscription and access right away. A partial or courtesy refund doesn't change your access.
- Upgrades start as soon as the prorated charge goes through.
- Downgrades and removing the SMS add-on take effect at the end of the current billing period.
- If a payment fails, you get a 7-day grace period. We retry for up to about 2 weeks. If payment still hasn't gone through, we cancel the subscription.
- Pausing alert emails, turning off texts, or not using the service doesn't cancel your subscription.
- Deleting your account cancels your subscription immediately. There's no refund for unused time unless the law requires one.
- Billing problem? Email billing@fastfindremotejobs.com. It's often quicker than disputing the charge with your bank.
1. Your subscription and automatic renewal
1.1 Plans and prices
| Plan | Price | How alerts arrive |
|---|---|---|
| Basic | $19.95/month | One daily digest, at the start of your delivery window on your next enabled day |
| Pro | $49.95/month | New matches delivered every 4 hours |
| Ultra | $99.95/month | Immediate alerts |
| SMS add-on (optional, any plan) | +$10.00/month | Text alerts in addition to email |
Prices are in US dollars and do not include sales tax. Where sales tax applies, it's calculated and added at checkout and on each renewal. The Pricing page has full plan details.
You pay by card through our payment processor, Stripe. We never see your full card number.
1.2 Automatic renewal
When you subscribe, you agree that:
-
your subscription renews automatically every month until you cancel;
-
on each renewal date we charge your payment method on file:
- the price of your plan;
- plus $10.00 if you have the SMS add-on;
- plus any applicable sales tax.
For example, Pro with the SMS add-on renews at $59.95 per month plus tax.
-
you can cancel online anytime (section 2), and cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period you've already paid for;
-
there is no minimum commitment.
Before you pay, checkout shows these terms and your total recurring amount. Checkout asks you to confirm that you agree, by checking a box or taking a similar clear step. After you subscribe, we email you an acknowledgment that repeats these terms and explains how to cancel. Please keep it for your records.
1.3 Your billing date
Each billing period is one month, starting on the day you subscribe. You pay in advance for each period. You're billed on the same day each month, or on the last day of the month in a shorter month. While your subscription is active, Billing shows your next renewal date and amount.
2. How to cancel
You can cancel online at any time:
- Sign in at fastfindremotejobs.com.
- Go to Account → Billing and select Manage subscription. This opens our billing portal, which our payment processor, Stripe, provides.
- Select Cancel subscription and confirm.
You don't need to call us or give a reason. We may ask why you're leaving, but answering is optional. The portal shows the date your access ends, and we email you a confirmation. To avoid the next charge, cancel before the renewal date shown in Billing.
[ONLY IF RETENTION OFFERS ARE USED: If we show you a special offer while you cancel, we'll tell you first that you can skip it, and you can finish canceling right away.]
Can't sign in? Try resetting your password, or use the emailed sign-in link on the sign-in page. You can also email billing@fastfindremotejobs.com from the email address on your account and ask us to cancel. We'll cancel and confirm by email within [NUMBER] business day(s). An emailed request takes effect when we receive it. If a renewal charge goes through after we receive it, we'll refund that charge.
Changed your mind? Until your paid period ends, you can [resume your subscription in Billing] [OWNER TO CONFIRM this portal option is turned on]. You won't be charged until your usual renewal date.
What doesn't cancel your subscription
The actions below stop or reduce messages, but your billing continues:
- clicking unsubscribe in an alert email (this pauses alert emails only);
- turning off texts in your notification settings;
- replying STOP to our texts (texts stop right away; section 6 explains what happens to the SMS add-on charge);
- turning off your alert rules, or setting every day of your delivery schedule to Off;
- simply not using the service.
3. What happens after you cancel
- No more charges. Your plan and any SMS add-on won't renew.
- Access until your paid period ends. Until then, alerts keep arriving on your plan's timing and delivery schedule, and you can use your dashboard.
- When your paid period ends:
- alert emails and texts stop;
- you can no longer see matches on your dashboard;
- the SMS add-on ends, and we delete your mobile number.
- Your account stays open so you can come back.
- We keep your profile, alert rules and delivery schedule, so you don't have to set them up again.
- We delete them 24 months after you cancel, and we email you 30 days before we do.
- Dashboard matches are deleted automatically about 96 hours after the job was first detected, whether or not you cancel.
- To delete everything sooner, delete your account (section 10).
- Our Privacy Policy has the details.
- Subscribing again. You can subscribe again at any time. A new billing period starts on the day you resubscribe, at the price in effect then.
4. Refunds
4.1 Our standard policy
[ATTORNEY/OWNER TO CONFIRM] Payments are non-refundable, except as described in this section or where the law requires a refund. We don't give refunds for:
- part of a month, including when you cancel, downgrade or remove the SMS add-on partway through a billing period;
- time you didn't use;
- a period in which you received few or no matches.
4.2 Charges made in error
If we charged you by mistake, tell us and we'll refund the incorrect amount. Examples include a duplicate charge, a charge after your cancellation took effect, or the wrong amount.
4.3 Goodwill refunds
We may give a full or partial refund in other situations at our discretion. For example, we may do this if a problem on our side seriously affected your service. A goodwill refund in one case doesn't mean we'll give one in another.
4.4 How a refund affects your subscription
- Full refund of your most recent subscription payment: your subscription ends immediately, your access stops at the time of the refund, and the subscription won't renew.
- Partial or courtesy refund: your subscription and access continue unchanged. Your subscription renews as usual unless you cancel.
4.5 How to ask for a refund
Email billing@fastfindremotejobs.com from the email address on your account. Include the date and amount of the charge and the reason for your request.
Never send us your card number. We don't need it. We'll reply within [NUMBER] business days.
Approved refunds go back to the card you paid with, through Stripe. We can't send refunds any other way. Your bank or card issuer decides how long a refund takes to appear; it's often 5 to 10 business days. A refund includes the sales tax charged on the refunded amount. [CPA TO CONFIRM]
4.6 What the service does and doesn't promise
The points below explain what this policy doesn't treat as grounds for a refund. Your rights under the law aren't affected.
- Job outcomes.
- We alert you to job postings that we find on employers' own career sites and job feeds.
- We don't guarantee that a job is still open, that a posting is accurate, or that you'll get an interview or a job.
- We aren't affiliated with the employers whose postings we monitor.
- You apply on the employer's own site.
- Which employers we monitor. This list changes over time, for example when an employer asks us to stop checking its site.
- Ultra's 15-minute alerts. Ultra is advertised as "15-minute alerts." This is a performance target that we measure and publish each month in our Speed Report. It isn't a guarantee for every alert.
- It covers only employers labelled "Fast-Track." Employers labelled "Standard" are checked less often and aren't covered.
- We can't see the exact moment an employer publishes a job. So the clock starts at the earliest moment the job could have appeared on the employer's site without our previous check seeing it: the time of our previous check of that site, moved earlier by the time that site's pages may be cached. Measuring this way counts the longest possible delay. (Terms of Service section 8.3 uses the same definition.)
- The clock stops when we hand the alert to our email or text-message provider.
- Delays you choose, such as your delivery schedule or the Ultra email throttle, don't count.
- Our target is that at least 95% of Ultra alerts for Fast-Track employers meet it each month.
- Missing the target doesn't give an automatic refund or credit. You can still contact us, and we'll consider a goodwill refund under section 4.3.
- Email and text delivery. After we hand an alert to our provider, delivery depends on your email provider and mobile carrier, which we don't control. Mobile carriers aren't liable for delayed or undelivered texts.
5. Changing your plan
Upgrading
- You can upgrade at any time in Billing, or with an Upgrade button in your dashboard.
- Before you confirm, we show the amount you'll be charged now, plus any tax. This is the difference between your current plan and the new plan for the rest of your billing period (prorated).
- Your new plan starts once that payment succeeds. If the payment fails, or your bank asks you to approve it and you don't, you stay on your current plan and nothing changes.
- Your billing date stays the same. Each later renewal is at the new plan's price.
- Matches that were waiting for your next batch or digest are released on your new plan's timing.
Downgrading
- You can switch to a lower plan at any time in Billing.
- The change takes effect at the start of your next billing period. Until then, you keep your current plan's features, and we email you to confirm the scheduled change.
- There's no refund or credit for the price difference in the current period.
- [OWNER TO CONFIRM: Your rules may not fit the lower plan. For example, you may have more alert rules than it allows, more industries in a rule, or a rule set to "Any industry," which only Ultra offers. If so, we'll ask you to adjust your rules before the change takes effect. If you don't, we will [turn off the extra rules / DESCRIBE].]
6. The SMS add-on
- Optional. The SMS add-on costs $10.00 per month on any plan. It's part of the same subscription and is billed on the same date as your plan. You don't have to agree to receive texts to buy any plan.
- Adding it. You can add it when you sign up or later in Billing. You need a US mobile number. To agree to receive automated job-alert texts, you check a consent box (it's never checked in advance) and confirm your number with a one-time code. [OWNER TO CONFIRM: If you add it partway through a billing period, you're charged a prorated amount for the rest of that period.]
- Texts. Message frequency varies with your plan and settings, up to about 40 texts a day. Message and data rates may apply. See our SMS Terms for details.
- Removing it.
- You can remove the add-on at any time in Billing.
- Removal takes effect at the end of your current billing period. There's no partial refund.
- Texts continue until then, unless you turn texts off or reply STOP.
- When the add-on ends, we delete your mobile number. We keep a record of your text-message consent, as our Privacy Policy explains.
- Replying STOP. Reply STOP to any of our texts to stop texts right away, or reply HELP for help. [ATTORNEY/OWNER TO CHOOSE ONE:] [OPTION A (recommended): Replying STOP also removes the SMS add-on at the end of your current billing period, so you won't be charged for it again. We'll email you to confirm.] [OPTION B: Replying STOP doesn't remove the SMS add-on or its $10.00 monthly charge. To stop paying for it, remove the add-on in Billing. We'll email you a reminder with a link to do this.]
- Canceling your subscription also ends the SMS add-on at the end of your paid period.
7. Failed payments
If a renewal payment fails:
- We let you know. We email you, and our payment processor retries the charge automatically.
- You get a 7-day grace period. Your alerts and dashboard keep working for 7 days after the payment fails.
- Access may pause after the grace period. [OWNER TO CONFIRM: Your alerts and dashboard access are paused until a payment succeeds.]
- Retries continue for up to about 2 weeks after the first failed attempt. If a retry succeeds, your service continues, or resumes if it was paused. Your billing date doesn't change.
- If no retry succeeds, we cancel your subscription. [OWNER TO CONFIRM: We won't try to collect the unpaid amount after that.] You can subscribe again at any time.
The fastest fix is to update your card in Billing. We may also email you when your card on file is about to expire.
8. Promotional codes
- We don't offer a free trial. We may sometimes offer promotional codes.
- Each code's terms are shown with the offer: the discount, how many billing periods it lasts, who can use it, and when it expires.
- Before you pay, checkout shows your discounted price, how long the discount lasts, and the regular price you'll pay after it ends.
- When the discount ends, your subscription renews at the regular price unless you cancel.
- You enter codes at checkout. Unless the offer says otherwise, codes:
- can't be applied to payments you've already made;
- can't be exchanged for cash;
- can't be sold or transferred;
- can't be combined with other codes.
- We may stop offering a code at any time. [OWNER TO CONFIRM this sentence, and how discounts carry over when you change plans: We won't remove a discount already applied to your subscription before the end of the promised period, as long as your subscription stays active.]
- A refund of a discounted payment is limited to the amount you actually paid.
9. Price changes and updates to this policy
- Price changes. If we change the price of your plan or of the SMS add-on, we'll email you at least [NOTICE PERIOD] before the new price applies. The email gives the new price, when it starts, and how to cancel. The new price applies from your first renewal after that notice period. If you don't want to pay it, cancel before then, and you won't be charged the new price.
- Updates to this policy. We may update this policy. We'll post the new version here with a new effective date. If a change materially affects your subscription, we'll email you at least [NOTICE PERIOD] before it takes effect. Changes never apply to payments made before the new effective date.
10. Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time in your dashboard, under Account → Delete account. Before you do, you can download a copy of your data with the data export tool.
When you delete your account:
- your subscription is canceled immediately, including any SMS add-on. It is not canceled at the end of your billing period, and your access ends right away;
- you're signed out on all devices;
- we delete your personal data as our Privacy Policy describes, with two exceptions:
- some copies remain in our backups for up to 90 days, until they age out;
- we keep certain records where the law requires it. For example, Stripe keeps invoices as tax law requires, and we keep records of your text-message consent and of your agreement to automatic renewal at checkout;
- there's no refund for the unused part of your billing period, unless the law requires one. [ATTORNEY TO CONFIRM; see reviewer note 4]
Want to use the rest of the time you've paid for? Cancel first (section 2), and delete your account after your paid period ends.
11. If we suspend or close your account
- Each account is for one person. Sharing an account or reselling access breaks our Terms of Service. If we suspend or close your account because you broke the Terms, we won't give a refund, except where the law requires one.
- [ATTORNEY/OWNER TO CONFIRM] If we stop offering the service, or close your account for a reason that isn't your fault, we'll refund the unused part of your current billing period.
12. Billing problems, disputes and chargebacks
Please contact us first. If a charge looks wrong, email billing@fastfindremotejobs.com. We'll reply within [NUMBER] business days. Many billing problems can be fixed quickly, and a refund from us is often faster than a bank dispute.
Your rights stay the same. Contacting us first is a request, not a requirement. You can always dispute a charge with your card issuer. Nothing in this policy limits your rights under federal or state law or under card-network rules.
[OWNER TO CONFIRM:] If you dispute a charge with your bank:
- we may pause your subscription while the dispute is open;
- we may share information about the charge with Stripe and your card issuer to respond to the dispute. This can include your agreement at checkout, your billing history and your use of the service;
- if the dispute is decided in your favor for the full amount, we treat it like a full refund, and your subscription ends.
Other disputes with us are handled as our Terms of Service describe.
13. Your rights under state law
Several states, including California, have laws on automatic renewals and online cancellation. Wherever you live, you get:
- clear renewal terms before you pay;
- an acknowledgment email after you subscribe;
- the ability to cancel online at any time;
- advance notice of price changes.
If your state's law gives you more rights than this policy, including a right to a refund, we'll follow that law.
California residents: Your subscription is subject to California's Automatic Renewal Law. You can cancel online at any time as described in section 2, or by emailing billing@fastfindremotejobs.com. The consumer-complaint notice under California Civil Code §1789.3 is in section 24 of our [Terms of Service] [LINK].
